The Pulaski County Touchdown Club and the Cougar Football Program held its annual year end awards banquet on Saturday, March 3
rd at New River Community College in Edwards Hall. As always this event is sponsored by the Touchdown Club to honor and recognize the achievements of the 2010 football team.
The President of the Touchdown Club, JT Back welcomed the large crowd of more than 350 players, coaches, cheerleaders, parents and Touchdown Club members and friends of the football program. The food was blessed by senior quarterback Chad Perry. The Touchdown Club provided and served 125 pizzas and drinks which were accompanied by desserts provided by parents of the players. Cheerleading Coach Assistant Stacey Harrell then recognized the JV and Varsity Cheerleading squads. Head Coach Todd Jones opened the awards portion of the ceremony by recognizing the senior cheerleaders and presented each with a tee shirt and rose. He also recognized the coaches wives for their many sacrifices and for their support, each were presented with a tee shirt and rose. Coach Jones thanked the Touchdown Club for their many contributions during the season and for their loyal support of the Cougar Football Program. Jones then thanked all those who provided so much help and support for the program including the Team Trainer Jackie Snell, Team Doctor Rodell Cruise, Equipment Coach Jason “Walleye” Wall, Team Manager James “Jimo” Hilton, Flag Bearer “Skipper” Duke, Ball Runners Chandler Dunnigan and Randy Jarrells, Shelor Toyota, Patrick K Moore Law Offices, McDonald’s and Wendy’s. Coach Jones then turned the program over to the assistant coaches who recognized each JV and Varsity player with their Certificates, Pins, Bars, and Stars to those that earned them. Tee shirts were given to each player in attendance and special edition sweatshirts were given to each senior with their number embroidered on the arm, both items provided by the Touchdown Club. Special awards were given and the evening came to close with the showing of the highlight film. The filming for the video was done by Touchdown Club Members Jimmy Gravely and Derek Handy. The film was created, edited and produced by Coach “R” Ratcliffe. Many in attendance commented on the outstanding job Coach Ratcliffe did putting the video together.
